Self-Portraits: Expressions of Identity & Journey
My self-portrait series reflects both my identity as an artist and the path of my artistic journey. Inspired by Frida Kahlo, Giuseppe Arcimboldo, and Vincent van Gogh, these portraits began as a way to connect with art history but have grown with me, evolving as I do. They mark each stage of my growth, with each rework revealing a new step forward.
These portraits have progressed alongside my series World I and World II, reflecting the themes woven into those works. What began as simple drawings and oil paintings has expanded to include digital layering, posters, photography, and collage on diverse surfaces. Each piece is part of my ongoing exploration, capturing moments of self-reflection and discovery in my journey of learning and creating.
